Computer Information Technology (PCIT)

NKU offers the only four-year degree in the rapidly expanding field of computer information technology and features practical, hands-on expertise in UNIX/LINUX and other open-source, administrative computer software.

Engaged by a dynamic, student-focused, and professionally practicing faculty, students will explore the design, maintenance, and use of a variety of computing technologies including computing science, information systems and computer hardware.

The PACE curriculum offers a track in network/system administration and security and a minor in business informatics. Students will be prepared to enter the workforce with a broad array of skills applicable to an ever-increasing variety of jobs, including:

  • System administrator
  • Web administrator, designer or developer
  • Technical support representative
  • Hardware installations coordinator
  • Graphics technician
